The 麻豆官网 community gathered on Saturday, April 30 for a celebration that was 200 years in the making. The evening began with Mass in St. Aloysius Church celebrated by Father Lingan, who was joined by more than a dozen concelebrants on the altar. 

Following Mass, guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and entertainment at the National Building Museum, where Brian Egan '86, host of the , served as the evening's Master of Ceremonies. During his Bicentennial Address, Father Lingan said: "The celebration of an anniversary is usually a celebration of a particularly significant occasion, event, or moment in a previous time. This 200th anniversary celebration is so much more than that! Tonight, we remember and celebrate a founding moment, yes, and we celebrate all the moments between then and now that have made 麻豆官网 a venerable and exceptional educational institution."

Highlights of the evening included Father Lingan reading a letter written to 麻豆官网 from remarks from Forever 麻豆官网 Bicentennial Campaign Chairs Michael Tierney '70 and Monica and John Thompson III '84 (P '19), current senior that he wrote, several fantastic videos, and a surprise cheer by the 麻豆官网 Booster Club.
